These fun subjects are long time clients of mine and I’ve really enjoyed photographing them over the years. I still remember when they just had their oldest and we played around in the sprinkling rain at Elwood park for our first session together. In the last few years we’ve done some pretty chilly sessions in November but this year mom decided to make the most of the abundant sun (don’t ya miss it right now?!) and we did it in an unseasonably warm September. A favorite spot for me this summer was Douglas Taylor park and mom agreed that it was perfect for them too. Wow, the kids are growing so fast! I really enjoy hanging out with them. Whenever I get the chance to, it always feels just like a play date because they make me laugh so much. The kids are relaxed and playful and I’m happy to be given the honour to watch them grow up! Their smiles are infectious and genuinely sweet! Here are the results of our precious time together.
They’re back again. The wonderful Koss family is celebrating their youngest boy’s first birthday and as always, that requires a fun new photo session to mark the occasion! We took trip to a local park I had never used before, McKay Creek trail. It’s so beautiful this time of year! The trees were showing their warm fall colors and not even the crisp air could spoil the boys’ excitement. It’s always a lot of fun when the Koss family and I get together. They’re such a friendly, easygoing bunch and we always have such a great time. Dad seems so proud of his sons, it’s so sweet to watch them all playing together. I also really loved the wardrobe momma Jenn chose for her boys. The little guys looked so handsome in their sweaters and as usual, she looked amazing, too! The kids had so much fun at the park and the little birthday boy had the joy of tearing apart his very own little cake! It was a wonderful day to celebrate a wonderful little guy!
I’m so excited to head to a local Christmas Tree farm this year to really get into the spirit of the season. I have only a few open spots left for my Christmas Mini Sessions! Wintery photos are so much fun, and these shorter sessions are perfect for the busy season. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to book your spot soon!
Oh, the fun I had at this Saturday afternoon session in beautiful McDonald Park in Abbotsford. I’ve known these lovely people since I was first blessed to be a part of their wedding a few years back. I’ve really enjoyed watching them grow from a happy couple into a wonderful little family and I was honored to do some family photos for them.
We met just after the kids had their early dinner so we could sneak the session in before they got too tired to enjoy it fully. At first their beautiful brown-eyed daughter was still a tiny bit sleepy from her unexpected car ride nap, but she warmed up with smiles and giggles pretty quickly. I followed the little sweethearts all over the park, hence the myriad of different settings in the photos. The kids adored throwing sticks in the water. It was by far their favorite part of our time together, so we enjoyed the shoreline together for a while. Their little man has no fear so we had to keep an eye on him so he didn’t end up soaked and covered in mud. Needless to say, they were tuckered out and ready for bed by the time we finished.
As a photographer, these types of lifestyle shoots make my heart sing because I get to enjoy precious moments and creatively capture life. I Love my job!
Well, this is it. This will be the final ‘first year’ post for this beautiful family. I have been so blessed to photograph each of their three children’s newborn, 6th month and one year photos over these past few years. Now their youngest and final child has turned one year old. I’m sure I’ll see them again in the future for family sessions, but as for documenting those big milestones in a baby’s first year, that time is over for this wonderful family and it makes me more than a little bit nostalgic. Time sure flies when you have children! Your life is so busy loving and nurturing them while they’re little, and before you know it, all you have left are the memories and those precious photos to remind you of those early years. I am grateful for each moment with these incredibly kind and lovely people. I’ll miss the kids as little ones, but I can’t wait to see them grow up into wonderful, kindhearted people! The years will pass by quickly, but they’ll treasure them always.
This session was so much fun for me to be a part of! I took photos for this little tyke when he was born and when he was six months old, and now Maddox is one! He’s an adorable, playful little squish ball and I would love to keep him all to myself! This family is fun, sweet, and full of laughter. We always have such a fantastic time together.
We started this session at a trail near my house that I discovered recently on a run. It gave us tons of gorgeous scenery to stage some really cool photos. The little guy was so stylish in his little biker jacket and sunglasses! Momma certainly knows how to dress her boys. Bringing in the awesome toy car was daddy’s idea. He’s a car guy and he’s definitely passing along that love to his son. Maddox had so much fun in his little car! Mom actually make the cake that met it’s untimely end under his shiny little wheels herself.
When we moved back into the studio, Maddox got to destroy another beautiful cake! Crystal from Reddy Made Cakes did the second cake for the birthday boy, and I highly recommend her! Before coming face to face with a one-year-old, it was really gorgeous. From the start to the finish line, this was a first birthday full of fun memories and lots of love.
Buying a new house is like opening a new chapter in the life of a growing family, and an understanding, knowledgeable realtor is so important in helping keep that story a happy one. My friend Shelly Gossett works for Remax and has won awards as well as the trust and friendship of her clients. I’ve known her for years and she’s always been an absolute sweetheart. She recently offered a complimentary family photo day for her amazing clients in gorgeous Fort Langley and I was so honored to help her do something so special and meaningful! She gave these wonderful families not only the perfect house, but the perfect captured memory to make it really feel like home! It was a fantastic, beautiful spring day and everyone had such a blast being together and enjoying the beautiful sights! Fort Langley is such a unique, cool place to take photographs, too. There are so many interesting things to see!
It seems like just yesterday I was taking photos of a gorgeous newborn baby Saaya. Time really does fly right by when they’re so young! Now little Saaya turns one year old and I got to mark the fantastic event with some beautiful photos! None of us were quite sure how the day would go because Saaya and her family had been pretty sick lately, and nobody really felt 100% yet. It was so wonderful when we ended up with so many lovely pictures anyway! She was a real trooper, and no little one can resist making a mess with a cupcake.
No two photo sessions are ever the same, but it’s always fantastic when a bad circumstance doesn’t ruin a beautiful day! Saaya was absolutely natural in front of the camera. She was so curious of everything around her, as any one year old would be. That’s the kind of photograph I love to take! I like seeing the little ones being themselves, exploring and playing around, and she certainly did plenty of that!
Oh, happy, happy spring! I’m so glad for all of this gorgeous sunshine; I thrive best in weather like this! It’s most definitely something that feeds my soul as well as my creativity. That, along with sweet, adorable, loveable, edible, charming children makes a perfect day in my book!
These beautiful little boys, the “Gregg” kids, are an absolute treat to photograph and we enjoyed the warm, pleasant weather together last week. As usual, they were perfect little subjects and they even invited a girl to their party, their darling little cousin Maggie! It was smiles all around. She had a wonderful time with her cousins. Here are some favorites from our beautiful day together. Enjoy!
And, just a reminder we have a few spots left for our Shooting for Success Boot Camp! It starts in just a few weeks so contact me today:)
I’ve been trying to get this post up for days now! It was one of those situations where everything seemed to go wrong. Little problems with sizing would pop up, interruptions with the kids, internet started lagging, etc, etc, etc. So finally, after three days of trying, here is my suddenly huge and always handsome little boy. This was a celebration shoot to mark the wonderful occasion when my son Andy turns 11 years old! He decided that he wanted a haircut right before the photos and it turned him into a little gentleman. I’m loving it! One of the best parts of my life has been watching my boys slowly turning into men. I am incredibly grateful for the moments I share with this charming boy. He has made me a better person more and more since the wonderful day we first met.
